Tobias Valerian - Vanguard

After a long absence, I make a return! You guys remembered good ol' Tobias "Tobi" Valerian, right?

Well, he's back: Tobi has finally become a full fledged member of the Order of the Reapers (Which was originally called Reavers, but was changed after reviewing basic definitions), and has been promoted to a full fledged Vanguard. He comes with another blade he has acquired in his travels, the Aecris, a decorative holy longsword that once belonged to a Bahamut zealot.

He hasn't replaced his trusty katana that he personally received from the Order's leader, his beautiful Elven commander-in-chief Consular Nienna Tasartir. In fact, through some worksmanship, the katana is more powerful than ever, imbued with the powers of ice.

Tobias has learned much from his travels, and although he was forced to kill his resurrected old friend Lloyd to end his suffering as an undead, he has been grateful for what he has learned about the world, and still has a part of his master always with him in the form of his mentor's raven familiar, Marty. But he knows that it's not his purpose to learn: his duty is to that of the Raven Queen, and thus his journeys continue.

It's usually hit or miss when I attempt to draw guys as of late, at least to my own standards. This is probably one of the few I'm happy with. The pose is inspired by the stance that Vergil/Nelo Angelo takes when he uses the move "Round Trip," where he throws the sword like a boomerang. In fact, I kind of imagine him fighting a lot like Vergil in the Special Edition of DMC3. Anyways, his hair has grown out a little and is more subject to gravity. He may continue to grow it out as his journey wears on.
